Since entering the Danish jazzscene in the early 1990´s, drummer Anders Mogensen has been one of the most sought after musicians on the Danish as well as the International Jazz scene. He has been a member of ground-breaking bands and has toured and recorded with Jazz Greats such as: Bob Berg, David Liebman, Steve Swallow, Marc Johnson, Brecker Brothers, & Gary Thomas. He currently holds a position as Associated Professor and head of the Jazz department at Carl Nielsen Academy of Music, Odense.
So join me as we welcome this grammy award winning drummer and celebrate another wonderful year. I'm making creamcheese pound cake so be there to get your slice o life!!!

In February I was given the opportunity to sub for bay area vocalist Kenny Washington in a performance of the only vocal tune on reed man David Solbach's latest CD, Dinosaur Dreams. With the success of this performance I was approached by David about the possibility of performing some additional original songs. Join us on Sunday July 17th as we return to the Bliss Bar in Noe Valley for the world premier of 8 of these original songs culled from the life of Solbach.
A mix of standards and original compositions. David Solbach on reeds, Jason Martineau plays piano, Fred Randolph on bass with Benn Bacot on vocals. An intimate listening room and great cocktails too.

I have the pleasure of joining San Francisco's very own bawdy, blond bouffant Chanteuse, Anita Cocktail and her band the BJ's for a guest spot at the Rrazz Rooms upcoming late night series of shows.
It's sure to be a lot of fun and I'll be singing a few blues numbers. A bit of a stretch for me but what's a boy to do with a cocktail or two.

It has always been a goal to share the music to as many as possible. Well I'm taking the show on the road. I'll be heading down to Hollywood's MBar with my sistah, colleague and great friend Linda Kosut.
We're calling the show "A Taste of San Francisco."
It's a sampling" of the material for which Linda and I are each known - a wonderful contrast in styles - from my soulful R&B-influenced jazz to Linda's "swingin' and intimate jazz/folk" style. And we finally get to sing together in some cool duets..
So if you happen to be in the area or have friends down that way be sure to spread the word. Two of San Francisco's finest are coming to town.

This along with the new procedure of cutting off sign-up at 5:00pm hopefully will help to make sure everyone in attendance get's up at least once. HOT! Is a fledgling project founded in 2006. Our goal is to make small grants to gifted, at-risk teens so that they might pursue education in music. TPA will work directly with the Arthur O'Donnell and Tess Kelly Scholarship Fund to produce regular performances with the teens and oversee their progress through their grant period.
